Help Us Catch a Keeper!

Judging closed July 4th. Thank you for your votes!
Stay tuned for the winners announced soon!

This year marks our seventh annual Sturgeon Stories Contest. Since 2012, we have received 2,500 entries from St. Clair County fifth graders sharing their Lake Sturgeon story through visual art, technical drawings and creative writing. We didn’t want to go a year without Sturgeon Stories so this year we added a community twist. Families were given the opportunity to share their creativity and passion with the public.

During a typical Sturgeon Festival, we display student finalist’s artwork and ask the public to vote for their favorite with pocket change. The money raised, upwards of $400, is used to fund Sturgeon Science School field trips for hundreds of area 5th graders.

Thank you for helping us catch a keeper by “casting” your vote! Prizes will be awarded for the poster with the most money raised and for the most individual supporters. Winners may see their design appear on festival swag. All entries will be displayed at the Sturgeon Festival on August 2nd!
