Earth Voyager is the fastest sailing vessel on the Great Lakes and holds the record for best elapsed-time in both the Bayview Mackinac and the Trans-Superior Races. She is the only Formula 60 Trimaran on the Great Lakes and is a proven show-stopper with media, spectators, and community leaders while in port or under sail.

In the summer of 2007, the owner and builder of Earth Voyager, Ray Howe, entrusted Earth Voyager to FRIENDS. He and FRIENDS envisioned that the 60 foot x 44 foot wide speed-record-holding trimaran as the perfect tool for drawing attention to the urgent need for Great Lakes restoration and protection.

During the summer of 2007, Friends began to use Earth Voyager by displaying a large banner that read, “Our Water. Our Future. Ours to Protect”. Friends took hundreds of people for the “sail of a lifetime” in which passengers were exposed to our mission and the importance of protecting and restoring the St. Clair River and its watershed.
