President, Kristen O. Jurs
Kristen has held the position of Storm Water Coordinator for St. Clair County since 2002 and is responsible for leading watershed planning activities and ensuring storm water permit compliance for St. Clair County. Kristen has her B.S. in Biology, is a Registered Sanitarian and is currently working on her Masters Degree in Public Administration. Previous employment included the development of environmental education programs for the Macomb County Public Works office, Redwood National Park and the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. Kristen also served as a fisheries biologist in Alaska.



Vice President, Sheri Faust
Sheri Faust has held the Environmental Educator position for St. Clair County’s Storm Water Program since 2004. She is responsible for developing and presenting outreach programs to the public that support the county’s watershed planning efforts. Prior to working for St. Clair County, she worked for The New Detroit Science Center as the Director of Education. Her work experience also includes interpreting Michigan’s major ecosystems as a Naturalist at Lakeport State Park; grant-writing and fundraising as Fund Development Director for Girl Scouts; and conducting wildlife research projects in Kenya, Africa. Sheri received her B.S. from Michigan State University in Natural Resources Management. She is certified to teach Project WET and Project WILD curriculums, volunteers as a judge for the county Math and Science Fair, and serves as the Publicity Chair for the St. Clair County Master Gardener Association.

Secretary, Dave Sheldon
Dave has served as a Professor of Biology for St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in Port Huron, MI since December of 2000. Previous to his SC4 employment, Dave held the same position for 5 years in Valencia Community College in Orlando, FL. Dave received his B.S. in Biology from Eastern Michigan University, and MS from WSU in Biological sciences with a specialization in evolutionary genetics. Dave continues to further his education by attending short courses and participating in field work which has included work in Belize and a course in Circadian Biology at Harvard University. When Dave isn’t teaching biology, he enjoys getting on his bike and going for a ride.





Treasurer, Beverly S. Roberts
Beverly has had a wide range of responsibilities over the past 25 years. She has been responsible for the financial management of a retail store, financial management of an attorney’s office, the office manager for a CPA JD, an administrative assistant at Merrill Lynch and is currently the Wills & Estates Clerk for St. Clair County Probate Court and serves on the Port Huron Historical District Commission. Beverly attended Macomb County Community College where she pursued Business Curriculum courses.




Board Member, Wayne Jurs
Wayne was employed at Eastman Kodak Company in Rochester NY for 26 years as a Sensitizing Specialist for photographic paper manufacturing. While growing up in New York his personal interests included hydroplane racing and construction. In the late 80s, Wayne helped Ray Howe construct Earth Voyager and has served as regular crew for Earth Voyager since she was launched in 1991. In 2007, Wayne received his Masters License from the US Coast Guard. In 2008 he served as the Captain of Earth Voyager for the Healthy Lakes Healthy Lives tour in which he successfully led the boat and crew over 4,700 miles and to 13 different Great Lake ports for tour events. Wayne’s talents include sailboat racing, windsurfing, and modern composite construction. He also holds a 4th degree Black Belt in Isshin Ryu Karate, which he teaches at the Port Huron YMCA.
