ADVOCATE
We have accomplished a lot in the past 25 years to restore the Great Lakes and the St. Clair River, but much remains to be done. Water quality funding over the past decade has decreased to a trickle. The folks we elect control where our tax dollars go
If you're concerned and would like to see more funding to address restoration and protection of the St. Clair River and its watershed, the most effective way to communicate with state and federal legislators is a phone call or personal letter. A phone call is the quickest. The staffer takes your name and your comments, and it's done. It's as easy! See Citizens Guide to State Government for an overview of how to contact your legislators. Find your Representative
Find your Senator
Another way to advocate for the river is by expressing your concerns at a Binational Public Advisory Council (BPAC) meeting. BPAC encourages the public to attend their meetings. This group of volunteers will be able to answer questions you have about the river’s restoration. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis. Please Contact Us to find out when and where the next meeting is scheduled.
